TOWN BOARD MEETING TOWN OF CASEY Casey Town Hall May 13, 2009 7:00 p.m. Minutes 1. Call the town board meeting to order. At 7:03 p.m., the town board meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gene Bethel, at the Casey Town Hall. 2. Confirmation of proper meeting notice. Chairperson Bethel posted the meeting notice and agenda on May 9, 2009, in the posting cabinets located at the town hall, at the junction of Dunn Lake and Island Lake Roads, at the junction of Pair O Lakes Road and County Trunk E, and at the junction of Blackburn Road and County Trunk E between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. 3. Roll call. Roll call taken. Present: Gene Bethel, Chairperson; Danny Swearingen, Supervisor; Michael Wallace, Supervisor; Corinne Slabaugh, Clerk, and Cherie Luell, Treasurer. Also in attendance: Terry Ormsby, Jason Pearson, Dustin Behrens, and Lean Eichhorst. 4. Approval of agenda. Discussion and action. On motion by Wallace / Swearingen to approve agenda. Motion carried. 5. Minutes of April 15, 2009 town board meeting and April 18, 2009 Road Tour. Clerk Slabaugh read the minutes of April 15, 2009 town board meeting. Chairperson Bethel asked for additions or correction to the minutes. None given. On motion by Wallace / Swearingen to accept minutes as read. Motion carried. Minutes of the April 18, 2009 Road Tour read. Chairperson Bethel asked for additions or corrections to the minutes. Discussion followed. On motion by Wallace / Swearingen to accept minutes as read. Motion carried. 6. Treasurer’s report and report of accounts receivable. Discussion and action. Treasurer Luell gave the following report: In the Johnson Bank - as of 03/31/09 $227,311.86. General Deposits $26,870.02. Interest $200.91. Total Credits $254,382.79. Checks Returned $12,832.38. Bank Statement Balance 04/30/09 $241,550.41. Outstanding Checks $116.68. Reconciled Balance 04/30/09 $241,433.73. Discussion followed. On motion by Swearingen / Wallace to accept treasurer’s report as read. Motion carried. 7. Public comments. None. 8. Zoning permits. Discussion and action. None. 9. Road Maintenance. Discussion and action. a. Complaints and compliments. None. b. Monthly report on spring road projects. Chairperson Bethel gave an update on spring road projects. c. Consideration of tabled bids for crack sealing. Crack sealing - Lower McKenzie Road. Discussion followed. On motion by Bethel / Swearingen to accept the bid from Fahrner Asphalt Sealers for $6,500.00. Motion carried. Crack Sealing – segments of Little Bass Lake, Big Bass Lake Roads, and in their entirety Melsvck, Section One, and Casey Lake Roads Discussion followed. On motion by Bethel / Swearingen to accept the bid from Roy’s Sealcoating for $2,415.00. Motion carried. d. Motion extending deadline for completion of Blackburn Rd project to Scott Construction. Discussion followed. On motion by Bethel / Swearingen to extend deadline for completion of Blackburn Road project to Scott Construction until August 1, 2009. Motion carried. 10. Applications for Liquor, Cigarette, and Operators Licenses. Examination and action. None. 11. Report on workshops attended and those who will be attending upcoming workshops. Discussion and action. Clerk Slabaugh attended an Election WisLine on May 13, 2009. 12. Correspondence. Action and filing. Correspondence read by the board. On motion by Wallace / Swearingen to file correspondence. Motion carried. 13. Paying of bills. Discussion and action. Bills numbers 5027 – 5043 submitted to the board for approval. The board discussed and initialed each bill approved. On motion by Wallace / Swearingen to pay bills numbers 5027 – 5043. Motion carried. 14. Adjournment At 7:53 p.m., on motion by Swearingen / Wallace to adjourn. Motion carried.
