TOWN BOARD MEETING TOWN OF CASEY Casey Town Hall Wednesday, November 9, 2011 7:00 p.m. Minutes 1. Call the town board meeting to order. At 7:00 p.m., the town board meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gene Bethel, at the Casey Town Hall. 2. Confirmation of proper meeting notice. Chairperson Bethel posted the meeting notice and agenda on November 6, 2011, in the posting cabinets located at the town hall, at the junction of Dunn Lake and Island Lake Roads, at the junction of Pair O Lakes Road and County Trunk E, and at the junction of Blackburn Road and County Trunk E between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. 3. Roll call. Roll call taken. Present: Gene Bethel, Chairperson; Michael Wallace, Supervisor; Corinne Slabaugh, Clerk; Cherie Luell, Treasurer. Absent: Dan Swearingen. Also in attendance: Rick and Pam Stephens and Lee Norton. 4. Approval of the agenda. Discussion and action. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to approve agenda. Motion carried. 5. Minutes of October 12, 2011 town board meeting. Discussion and action. Clerk Slabaugh read the minutes of October 12, 2011 town board meeting. Chairperson Bethel asked for additions or correction to the minutes. None given. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to accept minutes as read. Motion carried. 6. Treasurer’s report and report of accounts receivable. Discussion and action. Treasurer Luell gave the following report. In Johnson Bank – as of 09/30/11 $290,056.11. General Deposits $28,380.63. Interest $83.87. Total Credits $318,520.61. Checks Returned $151,292.99. Bank Service Charge $330.00. Total Debits $151,622.99. Bank Statement Balance 10/31/11 $166,897.62. Outstanding Checks $11,200.12. Reconciled Balance 10/31/11 $155,697.50. Discussion followed. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to accept treasurer’s report as read. Motion carried. 7. Motion to approve 2012 Casey Town Budget. Discussion and action. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to approve the 2012 Casey Town Budget. Motion carried. 8. Zoning permits. Discussion and action. None given. 9. Public comments. None given. 10. Road maintenance. Discussion and action. a. Update on road projects to be completed this fall. Chairperson Bethel gave an update on road projects to be completed this fall. b. Establish road sign replacement plan. c. Complaints and compliments. None given. 11. Applications for Liquor, Cigarette, and Operators Licenses. Examination and action. Operator license application from: Scott L Nordlund, Sharon E Gotautis, and Jonathan A Moore. Board viewed each application. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to grant an operator license to Scott L Nordlund, Sharon E Gotautis, and Jonathan A Moore. 12. Solicit names for consideration as election workers. Discussion and action. 13. Motion naming Cherie Luell to research possible institutions to potentially transfer Town accounts to and report at the December monthly meeting. Discussion and action. Discussion followed. On motion by Bethel / Wallace authorizing Cherie Luell, Treasurer to transfer Town accounts from Johnson Bank to Shell Lake State Bank. Motion carried. 14. Motion retaining Daryl Bazey as Uniform Dwelling Code Inspector. Discussion and action. Discussion followed. On motion by Bethel / Wallace retaining Daryl Bazey as Uniform Dwelling Code Inspector for 2 Years (January 1, 2012 thru December 31, 2013). Motion carried. 15. Report on workshops attended and those who will be attending upcoming workshops. Discussion and action. Supervisor Wallace attended and reported on the Washburn County Unit of Wisconsin Towns Association meeting on October 26 2011. Clerk Slabaugh and Chief Election Inspectors will be attending WisLines on November 16, and November 30, 2011, (Conducting Local Elections). 16. Correspondence. Action and filing. Correspondence read by the board. On motion by Wallace / Bethel to file correspondence. Motion carried. 17. Paying of bills. Discussion and action. Bill numbers 5619 – 5631 submitted to the board for approval. The board discussed and initialed each bill approved. On motion by Bethel / Wallace to pay bill numbers 5619 – 5631. Motion carried. 18. Set date for next town board meeting. The next monthly Town Board meeting will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 7:00 p.m., at the Casey Town Hall. 19. Adjournment.
